Meet The Team
Dr. Joon ChungDirector & Professor Dr. Joon Chung is the Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University. He received BSc from Iowa State University and his MEng, MASc and Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University and University of Toronto, respectively. Prior to joining TMU, he studied for two years at University of Toronto as a postdoctoral research fellow. He is also a member of Professional Engineers of Ontario and an editor of Journal of Unmanned System Technology... The main goal of Dr. Chung's research is to develop Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) Tools using various optimization methods and considering uncertainties, to develop a Flight Test Data Analysis System, to construct Flight Simulation Lab, and to advance understanding Human Machine Interface (HMI) with Aircraft Cockpit/Interiors Research. Dr. Chung’s most recent research activities include VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), and MR (Mixed Reality) application in the Aerospace Systems. Dr. Chung has written appoximately 41 journal papers, 82 conference proceedings, 11 special sections in magazines. His teaching at TMU includes the undergraduate-level Aircraft Design and Aircraft Stability and Control, and the graduate-level Multidisciplinary Design Optimization of Aerospace Systems and Advanced Aircraft Stability and Control.
